Established in 1959 by Lawrence Dayton, Dayton Meat Products, formerly the Malcom Locker, has continued to be a family tradition. What started out with just two employees has grown to ten full-time and eight part-time workers. The business has expanded from just custom meat-processing to custom jerky, deer, sandwiches, homemade pies, and catering. In 1999 Lawrence retired and sold the business to his two sons, Bill and David, and son-in-law, Mark Lang, who are the current owners today.
Current Facility built in 1994. This building includes our slaughter house, garage, smoke house, cutting rooms, and store.
Dayton Meat Products competes in competitions throughout the year that include the Iowa State Fair, Quad State Competition, Iowa Meat Producers, and the American Association of Meat Producers. We have won numberous awards over the years for our dried beef, bacon, ham, and jerkies.
